How Do I Import Contacts That I Have Stored in Other Applications?

  1. Click the import/export icon available on the Address Book toolbar on the left panel.

    The following options are displayed:

    • Import

    • Export

  2. Select Import.

    The Import Contacts to Address Book dialog box appears.

  3. Click Browse to select the file from which you want to import the contacts.

    An operating system file browser window is displayed.

  4. Navigate through your file system and select the appropriate file for your contact or address book.

    Note - When you import address book entries in the Mozilla/Thunderbird LDIF format, both contact and group information are imported. If you import the address book entries in vCard and Microsoft Outlook file formats, only the contacts are imported.



    Note - If the type of file selected does not correspond to the file format, an error is displayed.


  5. Click on the Import Contacts button.

    All contacts are imported into the address book.
